End of School Year and Summer Vacation

We had a busy end of school year. Emily's ballet class had rehearsal and recital the week before her school ended. Emily did great in her ballet dancing performance. Her teachers had written to us that she was one of the top dancers in her class. They wanted to recruit her to their competition team. After some thought, David and I had to say no because our intention for her to learn Ballet last year was to be confident on the stage and learn good posture and rythm. We never intented to develop her into a dancer. She was good at dancing and enjoyed every class but we haven't sensed a zeal from her for dancing. So this summer we dropped the ballet class and started the piano lessons. She loved first piano lessons so far!

Finale of Show 1 (Emily was in front row, 8th from the left; the school had two performances with 3 hours long each. It was a huge production!)

It was such a long performance. Andy fell asleep during the second half. He was still sleepy after being waken up. When we asked Emily what she liked the best about her ballet class. She said "dancing on the stage in pretty costumes". She wasn't afraid of the stage at all!

Emily graduated from PreK in NTCA. She is going to attend Minshew elementary school this fall. We are sad to leave NTCA. But we are excited that our little girl will continue to grow and shine in her new school.

Andy had a pool party at school marking the end of the year. Right after I took this picture, I went to put the sun lotion on him. When I bended down, my camera swung from my back and hit Andy's forehead. He had a bad cut from the camera lens. Poor little guy! I felt terrible.

He loved playing this baseball game and he was good at it

Something never changes: he loves all things purple

We had seven or eight birthday parties during the last two weeks of school. Sometimes we had to split to go to two parties at the same time. The kids enjoyed spending a few more days with their school friends.
The Wednesday right before school ended, we had a church event at a park. One of our FriendSpeak readers Wei got his job offer on the way to the park. Many people had prayed for him to find a job. He was so excited that the prayers were answered. He had to move to Atlanta the following Tuesday. So we had a going-away party at our house on Saturday. He was very emotional about leaving.

On Sunday, he decided to be baptized into Christ! After he talked to his mom and dad, he was baptized Monday night right before he left for his new job and before we left for our vacation in Corpus Christi.

Our vacation in Corpus was much needed and greatly enjoyed! We rented a bay front condo. We had many delicious seafood, watched lots of amazing sunsets right on our patio or living room, fished on the deck right outside the back patio, rode the horses on the beach, visited the LEXinton museum, fed the seagulls, caught the crabs,  played in the waves, dug the sand, watched the wild dolphins chasing the ferry, looked at the fish jumping out of the water, watched the pelicans and other birds, spied the fishermen casting out nets to catch the fish, ... On the way back, we stopped by the seaworld and watched the dolphin show, whale show, sea lion show, ski show, and sesame street show. It was one of our best vacation ever! Amazing sunset

Playing on the beach. There were lots of seaweeds in most of beaches this year. Our favorite beach was Rockport beach where there was hardly any seaweeds

Hanging out on the deck outside the patio after they fed the seagulls with leftover snacks and dinner

Emily and David had the hour-long horseback riding along the beach. Andy wasn't old enough. So he rode the horse around the ranch property instead of the beach.
On the way to the beach. Emily was the youngest rider. She wasn't old enough but they let her ride anyway. She did fabulous!

Having breakfast at our patio.

National seashore beach full of the seaweeds. There were supposed to be many sea turtle hatchlings. But we didn't see any.

Watching the dolphins on the ferry
Rubbing the sand with the toes
Watching the jumping fish and pelicans and fishermen from our living room

Visiting LEX museum

Emily did something not nice to Andy on the way to the museum. So she was put in the prison on the ship for three minutes after we got to the museum ...

Feeding seagulls. About half way, Andy went in the car to wait on us. When I asked him why, he told us later that he didn't want the seagull poop to drop on him (David had one on the top of his foot). Ha!

We had great time at seaworld too! Both Emily and Andy got in free (Thanks Dawn for the information!). David and I had $25 off coupon each. So it was a wonderful deal! We didn't get to see all what we wanted but we hit pretty good highlights. We are so thankful for being able to have this vacation! Now we are ready for the summer!
We went to see Dad for Father's Day. We had a wonderful relaxing and happy weekend with Dad and Linda! Emily said she wished Grandpa lives closer!

We framed Happy Father's Day cards for David and Dad (from a pinterest idea). We are thankful for the wonderful Dads they are for their children. Happy Father's Day!

Here are a few more pictures that we took last month:
Horses drinking water from the pond outside our backyard

We had service jars for Andy and Emily. Whoever did something nice or help out something without being asked wins a pompom. When the jar is full, he or she wins a date with Daddy to Chickfila or somewhere else of choice. Andy got his first award last month!

Andy loves inviting Daddy to sit in the back porch with him watching the sunset or moon/stars

Spinach from the garden (as big as a Japanese chopper)

Summer harvest. Bell peppers and Jalapenos are coming in too.

Silly kids enjoying playing with each other

Dinner with our small group before Sandy went to NGN and the Weatherford leave for Lubbock

Andy drew some crayons on the car window on the way back from the vacation. Now he had to clean it up ...

Emily and Andy had pretty good understanding about this consequence chart. We are putting it in good use.

Hope you all have a blessed summer!!!
