July 4th Quick Update

We had the coolest July 4th this year! Our memory of July 4th had been always sweaty and hot. But this year it was so pleasant because of the rain the day before. We had a great time watching fireworks at the Addison Circle park with our FriendSpeak readers. Below are some pictures:

Our friend Sandy came home from PNG. Our small group went to the airport to welcome him home.

Both Emily and Andy took a swimming lesson. They had lots of improvement. Emily is ready to move to the next level. They also enjoyed the piano lessons. Emily and Andy are already playing "twinkle twinkle little star" without looking at the notes. Besides those lessons, they mostly played at home: making bracelets, having pretend birthday parties, and everything they could think of.

They read several books everyday. Both kids already read 15 hours of books from the library. They turned in the reading log and got their prizes. See how proud they are of themselves!

One morning Emily got up and told us she had a dream about a cat and her little kittens. She wanted to write down her dream. So she made a book of it: 4 pages of words and 4 pages of pictures/illustrations. We are so happy for her first book!

We also played in the playgrounds whenever we could. Emily and Andy always stuck together. They are the best play buddies!

We love summer time! Hope you are enjoying yours too!
