Four Months In One Posting

Luckily I have a camera to look back at what happened during the last several months. It recorded most of the events, except a few like the Sweetheart banquet, Father and Daughter tea party, Young mom's group meetings at our house, my birthday party, ... So here are the rest of the happenings. Excuse me for jumping here and there- I had to rely on the camera to guide my memory:

Emily had a princess ball party at her school before the Valentine's Day party. She and all the kindergarten kids really enjoyed it. They practiced the movement in their PE class. They had a great time.

At home, Andy and Emily helped decorating for the Valentine's Day. They also helped to make the special breakfast.

We all enjoyed the homemade healthiest whipping cream, chocolates and fruit

Andy has been eyeing a picnic spot on the top of a hill for a long time. So we had a picnic lunch there on Valentine's Day. The kids played with the ladybug and wild flowers for a while. Then we went to visit our FriendSpeak friends Wen and Jun and their baby Sandy. After that, we went to the commons park in Frisco and played there all afternoon. The kids said it was the best Valentine's Day ever!

Emily's school also had an art night in Feburary. Emily and Andy had lots of fun.

Emily was the star student of her class. She was asked to make a poster about her. So she made this from the camp trip last fall.

She also was the rising star of her school. We (and her teacher Mrs. Glaze) were proud of her!

Andy also was the student of the month at his school. I forgot to bring the camera. His teachers said he was so excited about learning and he worked so hard. They had to ignore his excitement a few times just to give other kids a chance to try.

Dad bought me these sprouters at Christmas. We've been enjoying them for a while. I was so happy to have them!

Andy was in love with this game. It has the 66 books of Bible on 66 cards. He was to put them in the order. He would do it again and again. Last week the kids were working on the ten commandments. Next week they are going to try memorizing Psalms 23.

This is the birthday card Emily made for me. Love it!

We had the Chinese New Year's party for FriendSpeak. We ate lots of delicious food, played some games, and shared great stories and laughters.

I love seeing this on Emily's desk.

One day we bumped into our old friends at the restaurant. It was a happy meal for us all.

Emily's caught her first and big fish during the spring break at a neighborhood pond.

Beautiful blooms from our front yard this year

The pond in the back got lots of water because of the rains and snows. As soon as the weather got warmer, the horses came up to drink, eat, play, and take a bath.

We took our neighbor's kid Sunny to the Discovery museum in Frisco. The kids had a great time.

At the McKinney annual fishing event, we didn't catch anything. Andy and Emily enjoyed putting the worms into the garden afterwards.

Enjoying homemade hot chocolate

We had a big snow this spring. The kids played and built a snowman

We took Emily and Andy to Allen Iceskating Rink. They started skating on their own quickly. Then they went back the next day because they enjoyed it so much. We might put them in the iceskating class after schools are over.

Our church had Go Serve Sunday. We went to UTD to help the students with their resumes, job hunting skills, and do friendspeak. On the way back, Andy said his legs were tired. So Job offered to give him a backride. The next day Andy told me "Sometimes you just want to live a day over and over again. Mom, I want to live yesterday again. Can we please?"

We went to Glen Rose for the Promise show and the wildlife center for Easter weekend. Emily and Andy said it was the best weekend ever (they are so easily pleased. "Best ever" was on their lips all the time)! Here are a few pictures at the wildlife center. We took a tour and it was a great investment. Our tour guide provided us lots of great information that we wouldn't know otherwise (Did you know that a giraff only sleeps 15x3=45 minutes a day and Cheetah sleeps 20 hours a day? Did you know the Daddy Emu builds the nest and raises the children? Did you know the Zebra has white stripes on the black skin? ...).

I never knew the Ostrich is much taller than a Zebra.

The kids really loved petting and feeding the animals. They were so gentle with the animals. Almost all the small animals enjoyed their loving massage.

We bumped into our church friends and LST friends at the restaurant and the Promise show. Since it was the Passover night, we had the opportunity to hear how the passover meal points to Jesus from Israel Media Ministries. It was very informative. The president Ze'ev Nevo explained how each Jewish ceremony related to Jesus, from the pierced bread, to the middle layer (three layers: father-son-holy spirit) to be broken and hide and to be found, to the cup of redemption, ... Mr. Nevo was a Christian converted from Jew. We were in for a treat!

The Promise show was great. It was longer than I thought and I didn't like some aspect of how they portraited Jesus. But it is not a movie. It's a drama and show. It covered most of the major events and showed amazing details. So overall they did a wonderful job acting it out. Our favorite parts were when Jesus healed people, how He overcame the devil, and when He came out of the tomb. The beating and crucifixion was a little too hard on Andy. He covered his face for that part. But we all enjoyed the performance.

The nativity scene

Jesus showed the fishermen where to catch fish

Let little children come

Jesus heals a blind man

Jesus heals Jairus' daughter

A woman was healed by her faith
Jesus washed the disciples' feet

The last supper

Die on the cross

He is ALIVE

He showed the doubting Thomas his hands with nail holes

He appeared to many people afterwards. Each of his disciples changed from a coward to a great leader who gave his life for Him.

After the show Emily and Andy took a picture with "the Angel (Michael)"

and with "Jesus" on the way out

You can tell it was really cold that night. Imagine those actors who were immersed in the water!

We also had our FriendSpeak Easter party. We made the resurrection rolls, read about the real Easter bunny, played a game with the resurrection eggs, and watched a video on Easter.

I can't believe Andy is graduating from the preschool! I snapped a picture from his school picture website (I can't get a good digital picture of his paper picture). What a big boy he is now!
